HEAVEN AND HELL

Where will you go when you die? You will stay on this earth, among mortals, unseen. You will be an afterlifer, not an angel. You don’t need any religion to be an afterlifer, just like you don’t need any religion to be a mortal. Believe if you want.

WHY CAN’T I GO STRAIGHT TO HELL?

Let’s say you know you are a rotten person, you expect to go to hell when you die, and you think you might as well get it over with. Too bad, you can’t go straight to hell, even if you want to.

Religion says that at Judgment Day, the devil and his followers will be cast into hell, with the wicked. Right now, hell does not exist as a place yet. Where is the devil right now? Religion says he is on this earth, among mortals, unseen.

WHY CAN’T I GO STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN?

Because you aren’t an angel, and merely dying won’t make you one. Jesus, his apostles, and the angels went to heaven. They are no longer in the afterlife, which is why you won’t see them until Judgment Day.

Jesus and the thief on the cross both went to the afterlife at death. After three days, Jesus was resurrected. He ascended to Heaven, wherever it is (it is not on this earth), to be with his Father.

AFTERLIFE

The afterlife is on this earth. When you die, you will remain on earth, among mortals, unseen. You won’t see any angels, just as you didn’t see any angels when you were a mortal. The reason is that you must have faith in the afterlife.

CONSISTENCY AND PREDICTABILITY

God hides from humans. He is nowhere to be seen. He is aware of the theory of evolution, and provided enough science to make it look plausible. He gave us a planet, yet he still hides. Many of us know he exists, but we know that only through the Holy Ghost, and none of us can prove it.

The afterlife is the same, and for the same reason. It will likely be shocking to most of us to find that we are still on the earth, we look like people in white robes, but our mortal bodies are gone. We may be tempted to complain to God: “I thought when I died, you’d tell me what’s going on. Where are you?” The answer is in religion: “You’ll see Jesus and the angels at Judgment Day, and not until.” That God would hide from us in the afterlife is predictable. It is highly consistent with everything else he has done, even though it annoys me. I really want to know what the hell, or what in heaven’s name, is going on.
